2015 VIKING GOLF CLASSIC

The 29th Annual Viking Golf Classic will be held June 4 & 5 at the Sudden Valley Golf & Country Club.

Our 29th annual tournament is one you won't want to miss. 36 five-somes will tee it up at the Sudden Valley Golf & Country Club on June 4 & 5. This tournament wraps up the athletic seasons and is a great opportunity to mingle with Viking coaches and get the inside scoop for the upcoming year.

The tournament offers a Thursday practice round with a hosted cocktail party and horse race. The Friday festivities begin with a continental breakfast, complimentary practice balls, tee prizes for all participants, numerous on-course competitions, lunch "at the turn," and dinner at the awards banquet.

The format is a 5-person scramble. Teams are placed in a division by average team handicap with prizes for 1/3 of the field. The tournament entry fee is $200 per player. Proceeds from this event benefit the 300+ student-athletes at WWU.

Thursday, June 4

8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. - Practice Round

4 p.m. - 9 p.m. - Hosted Cocktail Party & Horse Race

Be sure to include the Thursday activities in your plans for the event. The horse race is a fun part of this tournament and shouldn't be missed! Here's how it works. Players sign up as a 2-person team (with combined handicap of no less than 17). The competition is a process of elimination in which high scoring teams will drop out on each hole. The remaining teams continue playing with a win, place, and show team determined on the last hole. There is no fee for this competition. Simply come out and enjoy the fun. To fit in your practice round and participate in the horse race, its is recommended you schedule your practice round tee time by noon. The horse race will begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp.

Friday, June 5

7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. - Continental Breakfast and Warm up

9 a.m. - p.m. - Tournament

3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Awards Banquet

Enjoy breakfast and coffee in the morning as you warm up on the range. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. Lunch is provided at the turn. Following the round, join the Viking coaching staff for dinner in the restaurant. A brief awards banquet will recognize the day's winners!
