In his 29th year associated with the WWU track & field and cross country programs ... Started working as an volunteer administrator with the program under Dr. Ralph Vernacchia in the summer of 1985 ... Writes the basic training programs for cross country and middle distance & distance runners on the track (800-meters and above) ... Also directs WWU's home cross country and track & field meets ... In his first year coaching the men's team (1989), they began a string of appearances at the NAIA national cross country meet .. In his first year of also writing the women's training program, the women became much more frequent participants at the NAIA cross country meet as well ... Has directed the NCAA west regional cross country meet the four times (1998, 2001, 2004, and 2010) WWU has hosted it ... Was on the Games Committee for the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships (1992-98) and served six years as meet announcer ... Directed the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships when it was hosted by Simon Fraser (BC) in Abbotsford, BC, in 1992 and 1993 ...

Outside of WWU, is very active in USA Track & Field (USATF), Club Northwest (CNW), and the staging of many events throughout the region ... Served as a national officer of USATF from 1988 to 2008, including four years as Vice-President (1988-92), four years as Secretary (1992-96), four more years as Vice President (1996-2000), and eight years as President (2000-2008) ... Has participated as a coach, manager, team leader, or chief of the mission on over 40 USA international teams since 1977, including nine world cross country championships ... USATF team travel has taken him to 23 countries on all continents ... Founded Club Northwest in 1972, and still manages its events, including a series of Seattle-area summer all-comers track & field meets he has directed since 1969 ... Has never missed the Lilac Bloomsday Race in Spokane and has been the primary starting line announcer and elite race scorer ... Has attended the Bolder Boulder 10km in Colorado for over 25 years, serving as lead statistician for the television coverage ... Works as an events manager and specialist for Pro-Motion Events of Seattle ...

Born 1950 in Seattle ... Graduate of Nathan Hale (Seattle) High School in 1968 ... Graduate of the University of Washington (General Studies - Sports Programs Administration, 1973) and earned a teaching credential from WWU in 1989 ... worked on the staff of the Woodring College of Education at WWU from 1989-2002.
