WWU's Donigian betters PNQ in men's 200

SEATTLE, Wash. - Western Washington University's Alex Donigian (So., Mission Viejo, CA/Trabucohils) bettered the NCAA Division II provisional national qualifying standard in the men's 200 meters, placing fourth with a school record time of 22.14 in first-day action Friday at the Husky Invitational Indoor Track and Field meet being held at the Dempsey Indoor on the University of Washington campus.

Two weeks ago, Donigian, a transfer from Northern Colorado, ran a school record 6.89 seconds in winning the 60 meters.

On Friday, the Vikings' Karis Anderson (Sr., Seattle/Roosevelt) placed seventh in the women's pole vault (10-11) and teammate Amy Rovira (So., Richland/Hanford) was 10th (10-5 1/4).

Action continues Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
