BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Central Washington University's Brandon Roddewig led a 1-2-3-4 finish by the Wildcats as he finished with 6,128 points to win the decathlon for the second straight year at the Western Washington University Multi-Events meet held at Civic Stadium.

The Vikings' Brooklyn Holton (Jr., Arlington) placed second in the heptathlon with a personal-best 4,023 points. Meghan Palesch, an unattached athlete who was third after Friday's four events, won with 4,179 points.

Roddewig ran the 110-meter hurdles in 16.32, tossed the discus 99-8, cleared 14-7 1/4 in the pole vault, tossed the javelin 162-8 and had a time of 4:46.74 in the 1,500.

First-day leader Manny Melo placed third for Central with 5,499 points. The Wildcats' Scott Hunter was second with 5,632 points and Colin Alexander fourth with 5,115.

Melo had the best 110 hurdles time of 15.93 and the top javelin throw of 166-6. Hunter posted the best mark in the pole vault of 14-11 and Alexander had the best 1,500 time of 4:39.05.

Western's Slater Hirst (Fr., Shoreline/Kings) placed fifth with 4,982 points.

First-day heptahlon leader Tayler Fettig from Central fell to fourth with 3,896 points. Western's Sydney Coffey (So., Boulder, CO) placed third with 3,911 points.

Palesch had the best long jump of 16-10 3/4 and the fastest 800 with a 2:31.10 clocking. Holton had the top javelin mark of 96-5.
