BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University's Frank Catelli and Lindsay Wells have been named Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Male and Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Apr. 13-19.

It is the second honor this season for both Viking student-athletes.

Catelli, a sophomore from Sequim (graduate of Sequim High School), set a conference record in the shot put, bettering his NCAA Division II provisional national qualifying and school record mark with an effort of 58-7 1/2 on Friday at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational.

Wells, a senior from Seattle (graduate of Nathen Hale High School), added more than eight feet to her school record and provisional qualifying mark in the hammer with a throw of 179-5 on Thursday at the Cal State L.A. Twilight meet.

WWU hosts the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational on Saturday at Bellingham's Civic Stadium.
