BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University senior Keith Lemay has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week for Apr. 20-26.

Lemay, a graduate of Lynden Christian (Wash.) High School, posted his second NCAA Division II national provisional qualifying time of the season in winning the men's 800 meters in a GNAC season-best time of 1:52.29 at the WWU Twilight meet last Friday.

Lemay now has provisional and GNAC season-best times in both the 800 and 1,500 (3:52.35).

During the indoor season, Lemay set a school record (1:54.84) in the 800 and won that event (1:57.86) at the GNAC Championships. He also was a member of last fall's Viking cross country team that won the league title, placed second at the West Regional and finished 11th at the NCAA II National Championships.

Lemay is a two-time GNAC academic all-star in both track and cross country.
