BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University's Alex Harrison (Sr., Edmonds/Edmonds-Woodway), Michael Hoffman (Sr., Bellingham/Sehome) and Emily Warman (Sr., Sedro-Woolley), who each qualified in two events, led 15 Vikings honored as 2012 NCAA Division II West Region all-stars by the U.S. Track and Field Coaches Association.

The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three earned all-star distinction.

Harrison received all-region honors in the men's javelin (214-7) and decathlon (6772), Hoffman in the hammer (205-1) and discus (168-1) and Warman in the triple jump (40-5) and long jump (19-2).

Completing the Viking honorees were Karis Anderson (Jr., Seattle/Roosevelt) in the women's pole vault (12-7 1/2), Brittany Grandy (Fr., Sedro-Woolley) in the women's high jump (5-6 1/2), Shane Gruger (Sr., Shoreline/Shorewood) in the men's 4x100 relay (41.40), Mark Pangilinan (So., Marysville/Marsyville-Pilchuck) in the men's 4x100, Cheyanna Pinley (Fr., Bellingham/Squalicum) in the women's pole vault (11-9 3/4), Katie Reichert (Fr., Kelso) in the women's javelin (148-4), Katelyn Steen (Fr., Sammamish/Eastlake) in the 3000 steeplechase (10:50.32), Brock Steffen (R-Fr., Bellingham/Sehome) in the 4x100, Alex Tilley (Sr., Edmonds/Kamiak) in the 4x100, Brett Watson (Fr., Ferndale) in the men's high jump (6-8 3/4), Lindsay Wells (So., Seattle/Nathan Hale) in the women's hammer (166-6), and Nelson Westlin (Jr., Bellingham/Sehome) in the men's shot put (51-5 1/2).

Harrison set school records in the javelin and decathlon, Warman in the long and triple jumps, Anderson in the pole vault, and Wells in the hammer.

Anderson, Harrison, Hoffman, Reichert and Warman will be competing at the national championships on May 24-26 at Pueblo, Colo.
