Former Viking Eric Brill places third at Seattle Marathon
June 24, 2012
BELLINGHAM, Wash, - Two former Western Washington University distance runners had much different results over the weekend. On Saturday at the Rock'n'Roll Seattle Marathon, Eric Brill (Kent/Kentwood) placed third, completing the 26.2 mile course in 2:37.38. Nearly 20,000 runners competed in marathon and half-marathon events. Brill completed his final year of eligibility this spring. On Friday at the U.S. Olympic Trials being held in Eugene, Ore., Sarah Porter (Hockinson) failed to finish in the women's 10,000-meter final. She completed her much-decorated WWU career in 2011. |
