BELLINGHAM, Wash. - On Thursday, Sept. 19, members of the Western Washington University track and field team helped move 300 students who are a part of the HELP Program into the various on campus housing complexes.

Ten athletes along with WWU assistant coach David Burnett and graduate assistant Ben Stensland helped situate students who were taking advantage of the early move in day.

The HELP students they assisted will be helping coordinate a campus wide move in of over 2,500 students this weekend in preparation for the 2013-2014 school year.

"Anytime you get students to give back and help their peers it's a win-win situation," said sprinter Jon Poolman. "Being able to lend a helping hand to freshmen who don't know anyone was a great experience. The coaching staff has done a great job by getting us these opportunities to give back to our community."

"The weather was nice and to see Coach Burnett and Stensland out here help direct traffic in yellow vests was priceless."
