The 2017-18 season marks the second season David Dunham will serve as the head assistant basketball coach at WWU (hired April 11, 2016) … helped lead the Vikings to the GNAC regular-season and conference tournament championships in his first season on the staff in 2016-17 ... head coach at Whatcom Community College for three seasons from 2013-16 … recorded overall record of 48-37 (.565) at WCC with a pair of playoff appearances … WCC played for the NWAC championship in 2015-16 falling to Spokane 91-84 … 2013-14 NWAC North Region Coach of the Year … served as WCC’s top assistant for 10 seasons helping lead the Orcas to a North Region record 10 consecutive postseason appearances … assistant coach at Independence High School in San Jose, Calif., for two seasons … earned bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Lewis-Clark State College, playing one season for the Warriors (1993-94) … also played two seasons at Golden West Junior College in Huntington Beach, Calif., where he was a first-team Orange Coast League selection as a sophomore … graduate of Pasadena High School, helping team to the CIF semifinals and the state No. 1 ranking as a senior … he and his wife, Meghan (Valenti), have three children: son Stefon and daughters Hayden and Quinn.
