BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Forward Michael Duty (Sr., Seattle/O'Dea) scored 17 points on 8-of-11 field-goal shooting to lead six Vikings in double figures as Western Washington University defeated Quest University BC, 111-58, in a men's basketball exhibition game Monday on Haggen Court at Sam Carver Gymnasium.

Forward Derrick Webb (Sr., Port Orchard/South Kitsap) had 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting and tied for game-high honors with seven assists for Western, which shot 57.1 percent (44-of-77) from the field.

Quest, located in Squamish, B.C., was led by the 15 points of guard John Pankratz.

The Kermodes jumped to a 7-1 lead and had the score tied at 10-10, with Pankratz scoring eight of the Quest points, but Western took over after that, going on a 29-5 run and eventually opening up a 54-19 lead at halftime.

The margin was never less than 32 points in the second half and never less than 41 in the last 15 minutes.

Guard Morris Anderson (Sr., Federal Way) had 15 points for Western. Guard Cameron Severson (So., Petersburg, AK) had 12 points, guard Richard Woodworth (Fr., Bellevue/Newport) added 11, and center Chris Mitchell (R-Fr., Everson/Nooksack Valley) had 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Vikings had a 50-23 rebound advantage, with forward Rory Blanche (So., Ashland, OR) grabbing a game-high 10 boards.

Western, the defending Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion, entertains Team Another Level in an exhibition contest Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
