WWU's Depew named Red Lion/GNAC Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University outfielder Camille Depew has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for Jan. 27 to Feb. 3. Depew, a senior from Seattle (graduate of Seattle Lutheran High School), hit .455 with 10 hits in 22 at bats in helping the Vikings split six games at the University of Hawaii Hilo Kona Kickoff Classic. Five of Depew's hits were for extra bases as she had four doubles and one home run, driving in six runs and scoring four. Depew was a redshirt last year after transferring from NCAA Division I North Dakota State. She saw action in nine games for the Bison in 2011 after playing the previous two seasons at Shoreline CC, twice earning all-region honors. |
