Vikings' Williams named Red Lion/GNAC Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University forward Trishi Williams has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 27 to Feb. 2.
Williams, a senior from Mabton (graduate of Mabton High School), had 11 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in an 83-72 win against Alaska Anchorage. That was just the third triple-double in school history and the first since 1994-95.
Williams finished the two wins with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists as the Vikings stayed unbeaten in the GNAC and ran their winning streak to 11 games.
WWU, ranked No.5 nationally, is 17-2 overall.
Williams is averaging 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds for the Vikings. She is second on the squad in both categories while leading the team in both assists (4.5) and steals (2.6).
Williams ranks second among conference leaders in steals, third in floor accuracy at 51.2 percent (83-of-162) and fifth in assists.
