Graham and Schell take top honors at WWU Awards Banquet

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Junior guard Ira Graham (Fontana, CA) was named the team's Most Outstanding Player and junior forward Calin Schell (Chelan) received the Price/Visser Millwork Rebounder of the Year and the Joe Morse Inspirational awards at the annual Western Washington University Men's Basketball Banquet on Wednesday at the Best Western Lakeway Inn.

Graham, who was a first-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-star, led the Vikings with an 18.5 points per game scoring average, shooting 52.3 percent (184-of-352) from the field.

Schell, who also shared the Captain's award with Graham, averaged a team-best 7.7 rebounds.

Junior center David Brittinen (Hoquiam) was named Most Improved Player and redshirt freshman guard Anthony Wiederkehr (Arlington/Lakewood) took the Chuck Randall Coaches Award.

The Rich Baxter Hustle Award went to redshirt center Chris Mitchell (Everson/Nooksack Valley) and redshirt forward Rory Blanche (Ashland, OR) was the recipient of the Fred Lewis Memorial Winter Scholar Athlete award.
