Former WWU standout Graham signs to play in Germany

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Former Western Washington University men's basketball standout Ira Graham has signed a contract to play for the Saar-Pfalz Braves, a team in Germany's second division. Graham arrived in Germany last week and has already played in one exhibition game, scoring 14 points in a 81-63 loss to first-division team TBB Trier. In his rookie campaign with the Bellingham Slam last spring, Graham averaged 18.5 points and led the team with 5.5 assists per game in 22 games. Graham led Western ith 19.1 points per game during his senior season and helped the school capture its first outright GNAC title last spring. He was selected the GNAC Player of the Year and appeared in the NCAA Division II All-Star Game. Last month, Graham participated in a tryout with the NBA's Washington Wizards. |
