BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University plays host to the Sixth Annual Great Western Shootout in men's and women's basketball on Thursday and Friday (Dec. 15-16) at The Arena at South Point in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Vikings (men 10-1, women 5-3) and Central Washington University (men 6-2, women 3-4) are competing in both divisions of the tournament. Completing the men's division are University of Alabama-Huntsville (6-2) and Rollins College FL (7-0). Rounding out the women's division are Drury University (5-3) and University of Central Oklahoma (8-3).

Two of the men's teams are ranked among the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25, Rollins being No.10 and Alabama Huntsville No.18. The Vikings are the second school ranked in "others receiving votes."

First-day action Thursday begins with two women's games, Drury and CWU playing at 11 a.m., and Central Oklahoma and WWU meeting at 1 p.m. Following those contests are two men's games, WWU taking on Rollins at 3 p.m. and CWU meeting Alabama-Huntsville at 5 p.m.

In final-day play Friday, the women's games are Central Oklahoma vs. CWU at 11 a.m. and Drury vs. WWU at 1 p.m. In men's action, WWU meets Alabama-Huntsville at 3 p.m. and CWU plays Rollins at 5 p.m.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
