Two Round Results Get Acrobat Reader

TURLOCK, Cali.f - Just nine strokes off the lead, Western Washington University heads into Tuesday's final round, which begins at 8 a.m., in fifth place at the 41st Annual Hanny Cal State Stanislaus Invitational Men's Golf Tournament being played at the 6,641-yard Turlock Golf and Country Club.

The Vikings shot rounds of 294 and 300 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 594. Tied for the lead in the 19-team tourney at 585 are Chico State (290-295) and Cal State Monterey Bay (295-290) with the host Warriors third at 588 (296-292) and Central Missouri (290-301) fourth at 591.

The top four teams all began the tourney rated among the top 10 in the latest Golf World/NIKE Golf Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll. Chico State was No.4, CSUMB No.3, Cal State Stanislaus No.9 and Central Missouri No.6.

WWU is led by Kyle Schrader (Jr., Olympia/Tumwater), ninth and five shots behind the leader at 146 (70-76), followed closely by Craig Crawford (Sr., Stanwood/Highland Christian), who is in a five-way tie for 11th at 148 (73-75).

The Vikings' Chris Hatch (Fr., Mukilteo/Kamiak) is tied for 21st at 150 (76-74), Mark Strickland (Jr., Mukilteo/Kamiak) is tied for 45th at 153 (75-78) and Brennan Emory (R-Fr., Mount Vernon) is tied for 57th at 155 (80-75).

Chico State's Lee Gearhart tops the medalist standings by one stroke at 3-under par 141 (69-72). Tied for second at 142 are Robby Hughey (68-74) from Central Missouri and Anton Rosen (71-71) from CSUMB.

WWU and Schrader were both third after the first round.
