BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University men's golfer Mark Strickland (Jr., Mukilteo/Kamiak) won the 39th Annual Bellingham Amateur which ended Monday at the Lake Padden Golf Course.

Strickland finished with a 4-under par 68 for a 54-hole total of 7-under 209. He won by one stroke over former WWU teammate and recent graduate Dylan Goodwin, who finished at 210 with three straight rounds of 70.

Strickland helped the Vikings reach the semifinals at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships. Last season, he had a 74.2 stroke average and was a Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-star, took medalist honors at the WWU Invitational and placed second at both the Cal Baptist and Cal State Stanislaus tournaments.
