BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Western Washington University men's golf team ranks third nationally in head-to-head competition in the latest Golfstat/NCAA Division II ratings.

The Vikings have a 72.61 average, trailing just Chico State at 72.10 and Barry FL at 71.08.

Western also is sixth in Par 4 scoring at 4.11 and 10th in Par 5 scoring at 4.85. The Vikings' Xavier Dailly (Jr., Burlington/Burlington-Edison) is 13th individually in Par 4 scoring at 3.98.

During the fall portion of its schedule, Western placed among the top four in all four of its tournaments, tying for first among 18 teams at the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational.

The Vikings ranked 22nd in the latest Golf World/NIKE Golf/NCAA II Coaches Poll.

Western begins spring competition on Feb.26-27, participating in the Dixie State University Invitational.
