BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University lost its second straight game, falling to Simon Fraser University in a non-conference men's soccer game Saturday night at Orca Field on the Whatcom Community College campus.

The Vikings fell to 3-5-0 despite goals by forward Gibson Bardsley (Jr., Fall City/Mount Si) and midfielder Matt Fishbaugher (Jr., Redmond). It was the fourth loss in the last five contests for Western.

Simon Fraser, a NAIA school, improved to 7-2-0 with its third consecutive victory.

The Clansmen opened the scoring just 4:43 into the game as Roman Doutkevitch finished from the goal mouth after Josh Bennett put in a cross from the right side.

Western evened the score in the ninth minute, Bardsley heading home a Oscar Jimenez (So., Mount Vernon) free kick, but Simon Fraser regained the lead in the 32nd minute, as Bennett and Gary Badesha combined to free Alex Hanne in the penalty area, and Hanne patiently finished from six yards.

Simon Fraser got an insurance goal in the 85th minute. John Hodnett scored with an assist from Colin Streckmann, but Western closed the scoring with just seven seconds left, Fishbaugher hitting a blast from 16 yards with his first touch of a pass from midfielder Kellan Brown (So., Tacoma/Bellarmine Prep).

Simon Fraser had a 20-9 advantage in shot attempts.
