BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University and University of Sioux Falls battled to a 0-0 overtime tie in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer game Thursday night at Orca Field on the Whatcom CC campus.

The Vikings, who had a 26-10 shot advantage, are now 4-6-2 overall, 2-5-2 in the GNAC.

Sioux Falls is now 1-8-2 and 1-5-2. The Panthers' only victory was a 3-1 triumph over WWU in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Sept. 22.

Forward Andrew Weishaar (Jr., Puyallup) had the best chance for the Vikings, putting a header off the crossbar in the 52nd minute. The ball then bounced out to Kurtis Pederson (Fr., Puyallup/Bellarmine Prep) whose shot from the top of the penalty area forced a diving save from Sioux Falls goalkeeper Kyle Simons.

WWU goalkeeper Keegan Rogers (Portland, OR/Portland Christian) had two saves in his fourth shutout of the season.

WWU is now 4-2-3 at home, with both defeats coming against teams ranked in the Top 10 nationally. The Vikings close out their five-game home stand Saturday (7 p.m.), Oct. 13, against Mary ND.
