BURNABY, B.C. - Western Washington University gave up two early goals and could not recover in falling 3-0 to nationally ranked Simon Fraser University on Sunday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer contest at Terry Fox Field on the SFU campus.

The Vikings, who had a three-game winning streak snapped and had lost just once in their previous six contests, finished the season 8-8-2 overall and fifth in the GNAC at 6-6-2. That was a huge improvement over their 5-11-1 mark in 2011.

Justin Wallace scored his ninth and 10th goals of the season for Simon Fraser, ranked No.3 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll. The post-season bound Clan improved to 16-1-1 overall and finished 12-1-1 in conference play, winning a third straight GNAC title.

SFU, which finished 10-1-0 at home, scored in the 11th minute when Wallace converted a through pass in the penalty area from Colin Jacques. Wallace got his second goal of the game 10 minutes later when a shot deflected off a defender and onto his foot.

SFU's final goal came in the 87th minute, John Hodnet putting in a rebound off the goalkeeper. It was Hodnet's seventh goal of the campaign.

The Clan entered the game as the top scoring team nationally in NCAA II, averaging 3.76 goals.

SFU outshot the Vikings, 27-7, WWU goalkeeper Keegan Rogers (So., Portland, OR/Portland Christian) making eight saves.
