Vikings earned program’s first-ever berth into the NCAA Division II Tournament as the No. 6 seed in the West Region…also earned the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Tournament win with a 3-2 (OT) victory against third-seeded Dixie State in the opening round…fell 2-0 to second-seeded UC San Diego in the second round of the NCAA Tournament…finished in a tie for 2nd in the GNAC with a 10-5-4 overall record 6-3-3 record in GNAC play…finish was the highest for WWU in the GNAC since 2009…opened the season 3-1-1 and closed the season 6-1-1, including a six-game win streak spanning the final 5 games of the regular season and first game of the NCAA Tournament…finished the season with a 7-1-1 record at Harrington Field and a 2-4-3 record on the road...1-0-0 neutral site record …also tied 4 times to tie the school record for ties in a season….tied No. 3 Simon Fraser 1-1 in Burnaby (Oct. 15) before handing the Clan their first loss in a 1-0 win at Harrington Field on Nov. 3…named NSCAA All-West Region Third Team were junior goalkeeper Tyler Visten, senior defender Brady Ulen, senior midfielder Eleazar Galvan and junior forward Anthony Dean…head coach Greg Brisbon was the GNAC Co-Coach of the Year…named All-GNAC First Team was junior midfielder Luke Olney…named All-GNAC Second Team were Dean, Galvan and Visten…named All-GNAC Honorable Mention were freshman midfielder Jeremiah Lee and UlenUlen was twice named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 19, Nov. 7) while Visten earned the honor on Sept. 6…Galvan was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 31…WWU concluded season with 8 shutouts overall (2nd highest total in GNAC)…Dean scored a team-leading 8 goals (tied for 5th in GNAC) along with 5 assists to lead team with 21 points (5th in GNAC)…Galvan led team with 6 assists (tied for 5th in GNAC) …Visten finished 2nd in the GNAC in goals-against average (.95) and shutouts (7), 3rd in save percentage (.765) and 4th in saves (62)…Vikings led the GNAC in shot attempts with 331 (17.42 per game), an average ranking 16th nationally, and tied for conference lead in corner kicks 114 (6.00 per game).
