Vikings open and close 2012 season on road

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Western Washington University men's soccer team opens the 2012 season with two road games and closes it with five away contests while playing nine times at home during an 11-game stretch in the middle.

The Vikings open their campaign in California, traveling to Chico State on Aug. 30 and to Notre Dame de Namur on Sept. 1. They close out with five road encounters, going to Montana State Billings on Oct. 18, Northwest Nazarene on Oct. 20, Seattle Pacific on Oct. 25, Saint Martin's on Oct. 28 and Simon Fraser on Nov. 4.

During the middle portion of its schedule, WWU plays at home nine times in a stretch of 11 games. All of them take place at Orca Field on the campus of Whatcom CC.

The Vikings entertain Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 7, Dixie State UT on Sept. 9, Northwest Nazarene ID on Sept. 13, Montana State Billings on Sept. 15, Saint Martin's on Sept. 27, Seattle Pacific on Sept. 29, Simon Fraser on Oct. 6, Sioux Falls SD on Oct. 11 and Mary SD on Oct. 13.

WWU's two road games during that span are at Mary on Sept. 20 and at Sioux Falls on Sept. 22.
