BELLINGHAM, Wash. -
Western Washington University senior Andrew Weishaar has been named a Capital One Academic All-District first-team honoree in District 8 of NCAA Division II for the sport of men's soccer.
The forward from Puyallup, carries a 3.72 grade-point average (4.0 scale) as an accounting major. Weishaar, who was recently named a Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic all-star for the third time, is tied for the conference lead in both goals with nine and game-winning goals with five.
Weishaar's 25 career goals are tied for fifth among WWU leaders.
Nominations and voting for the Capital One Academic All-America program are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
As a first-team selection, Weishaar now moves on to the national balloting for Academic All-America status.
