WWU Game at Simon Fraser Postponed Due to Snow

Nov. 2, 2017

BURNABY, B.C. -- The scheduled Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer game set for Thursday evening between visiting Western Washington University and host Simon Fraser University at Terry Fox Field has been postponed until Sunday due to unplayable field conditions as a result of snowy weather in Burnaby, B.C.

Snow falling Thursday in Burnaby created an unplayable surface at Terry Fox Field, located on the campus of Simon Fraser. The game has been rescheduled for this Sunday, Nov. 5, in Burnaby at Terry Fox Field with a 4 pm start time. Should the snow be an issue again on Sunday, a backup field option will be in place.

The next game for WWU will be Senior Night on Saturday at Harrington Field in Bellingham at 7 pm. The Vikings will honor their six seniors in a short pregame ceremony before taking on the Cavaliers at 7 pm.

Sunday's game against Simon Fraser at 4 pm in Burnaby will be the final regular season and conference game of the year for WWU. Selections for the NCAA Division II Tournament are made on Monday, Nov. 6.

Simon Fraser's next scheduled game is Saturday at 7 pm, when the Clan will host Seattle Pacific. Seattle Pacific (22 points, 7-3-1 GNAC), Simon Fraser (20 points, 6-2-2 GNAC) and WWU (17 points, 5-3-2 GNAC) are all vying for the conference title during the final weekend of the regular season.
