Western Washington University men's soccer forward Andrew Weishaar (Sr., Puyallup) has been named a second-team 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/NCAA Division II/Scholar All-American in an announcement Wednesday.
An accounting major, Weishaar has a 3.75 (4.0 scale) grade point average.
Earlier, Weishaar was named a CoSIDA Capital One District 8 Academic all-star and for the third straight season was a Great Northwest Athletic Conference academic all-star.
Weishaar, who was a third-team NSCAA All-American, led the Vikings with 10 goals and finished second among GNAC leaders in goals per game (0.56) and points per game (1.28). He tied for the GNAC lead in game-winning goals with five.
Weishaar finished his four-year career fifth among WWU leaders in goals with 26, sixth in points with 63 and tied for 14th in assists with 11.
WWU posted the fourth-best record in school history last fall at 11-4-3, winning six of its last seven games, and placed third in the GNAC, tying for its best finish since 2010, at 9-2-3. The Vikings defeated national semifinalist Simon Fraser, 3-0, in their season finale.
