BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University guard Corinn Waltrip has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball co-Player of the Week for Feb. 10-17.

Waltrip, a 5-foot-6 senior from Tigard, Ore. (graduate of Tigard High School), scored 50 points in a pair of conference road wins over Montana State Billings, 71-54, and Seattle Pacific, 80-76 in overtime. It is her second weekly honor this season and the third of her career.

Waltrip had a career-high 36 points, also a GNAC season high and the fourth-highest total in school history, against Seattle Pacific. She made 11-of-19 shots against the Falcons, including 8-of-13 3-pointers. Her eight treys tied the WWU single-game standard and tied the third-highest total in league history.

In the Vikings' two wins, Waltrip shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the floor and 10-of-15 from 3-point range and was perfect on eight free throws. She also had 10 assists.

Waltrip ranks among the top 10 nationally this season and leads the GNAC in 3-point accuracy at 46.9 percent (53-of-113).

Waltrip shared the honor with Seattle Pacific forward Katie Benson.

Waltrip, who was a preseason GNAC all-star pick, earned second-team honors last season and has been named to four all-tournament teams. She also is a two-time GNAC academic all-star.

WWU, ranked No.9 nationally, makes two home appearances this week at Sam Carver Gymnasium, meeting Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, Feb. 21 (7 p.m.) and Central Washington on Saturday, Feb. 23 (7 p.m.) in a pair of GNAC contests.

The Vikings lead the league by two games at 13-1.
