WWU's Britt Harris named Red Lion/GNAC Co-Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University post-player Britt Harris has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for Dec. 16-22. Harris, a senior from Marysville (graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School), had 42 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and five steals in leading the Vikings to wins over nationally ranked sixth-ranked Washburn KS, 64-62, and No.15 Grand Canyon, 72-68 in overtime. Harris, who scored a career-high 27 points in the win over Washburn, converted 14-of-30 field goal attempts and 14-of-19 free throws. Harris was named the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic MVP and guard Corinn Waltrip (Sr., Tigard, OR) was an all-tourney pick. Harris shared the GNAC honor with Alaska Anchorage forward Alysa Horn. |
