BELLINGHAM, Wash. -
Western Washington University's Emily Little was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division II Pocock All-America first team announced this week.
A senior from Port Angeles, Little rowed in the bow seat of the Vikings' varsity eight shell.
"Emily was the hardest-working athlete on the team this year," said WWU head coach John Fuchs. "She pushed herself to new limits and took the rest of the squad with her. She is the most physically fit rower on the team."
The Vikings came within a fraction of a second of winning the national championship on Sunday. Just two points separated the top three teams, the tightest finish in the event's history.
A week ago, Little was one of four WWU rowers named CRCA National Scholar-Athletes. A kinesiology major, she has a 3.58 grade point average (4.0 scale).
