GOODYEAR, Ari. - The Western Washington University women's golf team is 14th after first-day action Monday at the Western New Mexico University Women's Golf Spring Invitational being played at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

Final-round action Tuesday begins at 7:30 a.m.

The Vikings shot 325 in the 17-team tournament.

Chico State holds a four-stroke lead at 301. Cal Baptist is second at 305 and St. Edward's TX third at 307.

WWU's Anna Bourland (Jr., Bainbridge) and Brooke Branigan (Fr., Bellingham) are tied for 25th, each shooting 79. Kristen Hansen (So., Spokane/Mead) shot 82 and is tied for 52nd, and Audrey Orem (Fr., Bellingham) and Emily Koryto (So., East Lansing, MI) are tied for 66th, each shooting 85.

Cal Baptist's Tina Yang is the medalist leader at 1-over-par 73. Three players are tied for second, one shot back at 74.
