BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University senior Jenn Paul has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for April 10-16.
Paul (Bellingham, WA) finished in a three-way tie for 7th place in the field of 100 golfers at the Mustang Intercollegiate hosted by Western New Mexico University at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. She turned in rounds of 71 (-1) and 73 (+1) to finish the 36-hole regular-season finale at even-par 144.
With her second top 10 finish of the season, Paul helped lead the Vikings to a 5th-place finish in the 19-team field. WWU heads into the GNAC Championships next week (April 24-25) at Coeur d’Alene Resort ranked 14th in the NCAA II West Region. The top 12 teams in the rankings will earn a spot in the NCAA II Regionals that will be played May 8-10 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Paul, a two-time GNAC co-Player of the Year selection, heads into the GNAC Championships with a league-best scoring average of 77.6. This is the eighth GNAC Player of the Week honor for Paul in her career, and first this season.
