BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University women's golfer Kristen Hansen has been selected to play as an individual at the West Super Regional on May 5-7 at Mansfield, Texas.

Hansen, a sophomore from Spokane (graduate of Mead High School), is one of four individuals from non-qualifying squads and nine teams competing for 54 holes at the Walnut Creek Country Club.

The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each of the four super regionals advance to the NCAA Division II Championships on May 14-17 at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, North Carolina.

Hansen was named the 2014 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, helping the Vikings to their third straight conference title. She led the GNAC with a 77.5 scoring average, finishing among the top 10 in six of nine tournaments, and placed third in the medalist standings at the conference tournament.

Hansen, who was the GNAC Freshman of the Year last year, was a first-team GNAC all-star selection for the second straight season.
