BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Western Washington University women's golf team is shooting for a fourth straight title at its own 19th annual Viking Invitational which takes place Monday and Tuesday at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

Play begins at 9 a.m. both days.

Making up the 13-team field are British Columbia, Cal State East Bay, Chico State, Grand Canyon, Hawaii Hilo, Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene, Point Loma Nazarene, Saint Martin's, Simon Fraser, Tarleton State, Victoria and WWU.

Tarleton State is ranked No.8 in the latest Golf World/Women's Golf Coaches Association/NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll .

In all, WWU has won or tied 12 times at its own tourney. The only blemish over the last decade was British Columbia taking the title in 2008.

Last fall, the Vikings tied with Sonoma State for the title.

WWU is competing at the Saint Martin's Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
