Oct. 12, 2012
BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University's Anna Bourland has been named Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for Oct. 7-13.
It is the second time this season that Bourland has received the honor.
Bourland, a sophomore from Bainbridge (graduate of Bainbridge High School), was the only GNAC golfer to finish in the Top 15 at the Western Washington Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
Bourland had a second-round score of 2-under par 71, the best round of the tournament, to finish tied for eighth with a 153 total as she led the Vikings to a seventh-place finish in the 13-team tournament.
It was Bourland's second Top 10 finish this fall. She also placed 10th in the Grand Canyon Fall Invitational and is the only golfer in the GNAC to have two Top 10 finishes this season.
WWU has completed the fall portion of its schedule.
