BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Nine home games are on the Western Washington University women's soccer schedule for 2012, ending with one against defending Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion Seattle Pacific on Oct. 27.

The other eight appearances for the Vikings at Orca Field on the campus of Whatcom CC are Hawaii Pacific on Sept. 6, Azusa Pacific on Sept. 8, Simon Fraser on Sept. 23, Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 27, Montana State Billings on Sept. 29, Saint Martin's on Oct. 11, Western Oregon on Oct. 13, and Central Washington on Oct. 25.

WWU opens its season on the road, traveling to Chico State on Aug. 30 and to Notre Dame de Namur on Sept. 1.

The Vikings other away contests are with Western Oregon on Sept. 13, Saint Martin's on Sept. 15, Seattle Pacific on Sept. 19, Simon Fraser on Oct. 4, Central Washington on Oct. 7, Montana State Billings on Oct. 18 and Northwest Nazarene on Oct. 20.

WWU aims to be in the first GNAC Tournament, which takes place on Nov. 1 and 3 at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.

The Vikings return seven starters from last year's 10-5-3 team that tied for second in the GNAC at 9-4-1.
