Frankland named co-GNAC Athlete of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University forward Emily Frankland has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Soccer co-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 6.
Frankland, a sophomore from Sammamish (graduate of Skyline High School), contributed to all four goals in the Vikings' wins over No.13 Cal State Dominguez Hills, 2-0, and Sonoma State, 2-1.
She scored one goal and earned an assist on the game-winning goal against CSUDH and tallied the game-winning goal in the 87th minute and assisted on Western's first goal versus Sonoma State.
Frankland has already garnered seven points with two goals and three assists in helping the Vikings to a 3-1 start.
Frankland shared the weekly honor with Seattle Pacific forward Amanda Johnson.
Western is at Chico State on Wednesday (7 p.m.) and plays host to Dixie State UT on Saturday (4 p.m.).
