Shannon named GNAC co-Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University forward Molly Shannon has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer co-Player of the Week for Sept. 12-18.
Shannon, a senior from Bellingham, scored eight points with three goals and two assists, in home victories over Western Oregon, 7-0, and Saint Martin's, 2-1. She converted on all three of her shot attempts in the two games.
During her four-year career, Shannon has 20 goals and nine assists. The team's leading scorer last year with seven goals, she had not scored in the Vikings' first four games this fall.
Shannon shared the weekly honor with Seattle Pacific midfielder Brittany Langdon.
Western, 5-0-1 overall and tied for the GNAC lead at 2-0-0, travels to Northwest Nazarene on Thursday (2 p.m.) and entertains Montana State Billings on Saturday (1 p.m.) at Orca Field on the campus of Whatcom CC.
