Western Washington University forward Kristin Maris has been named Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
Maris, a senior from Issaquah (graduate of Issaquah High School), scored three goals, two in a 5-0 win over Simon Fraser and the game winner in the 83rd minute of a 2-1 victory at Central Washington, as the post-season bound Vikings improved to 16-1-0 overall and clinched the GNAC regular-season title at 13-1-0.
Maris has 10 goals this season, tied for second in the GNAC, and six assists for 26 points. She has scored three game-winning goals.
During her four-year career, Maris has 27 goals which have her tied for ninth among WWU career leaders, and 17 assists which is eighth.
WWU, the defending GNAC Tournament champion, plays Western Oregon in an opening-round contest Thursday, Nov. 7 (1 p.m.) at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.
