Warner named GNAC Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University women's soccer defender Katie Warner has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 3.
Warner, a junior from Burlington (graduate of Burlington-Edison High School), led a Viking defense which allowed just 15 total shots, including eight on goal, in wins over Western Oregon, 2-0, and Central Washington, 2-1.
Warner has one goal and three assists this fall and has been a key figure on a defense that has allowed just 0.82 goals per game and recorded 11 shutouts.
Western finished the regular season 13-6-1 overall and placed third in the GNAC standings at 8-5-1. The Vikings won their last four games by a combined score of 9-1.
