WWU's Alexie Levin named Red Lion/GNAC Player of the Week

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Western Washington University pitcher/first baseman Alexie Levin has been named the Red Lion/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 3-9.

Levin, a freshman from Everett (graduate of Everett High School), hit .423 with 11 hits in 26 at bats, including four doubles and three triples, and also drove in a team-leading 10 runs. She had a 2-1 record and a 2.30 earned run average, allowing just nine runs and 22 hits in 21- 1/3 innings.

WWU has its home opener on Thursday, Feb. 21 (1 p.m.), entertaining University of British Columbia in a non-conference game.
