Western Washington University volleyball outside hitter Brianna Murray has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 7-13.
Murray, a senior from Everett (Cascade High graduate), had 37 kills and 45 digs as the Vikings won two road games, rallying from a 2-0 deficit to beat Seattle U., then sweeping Northwest Nazarene. She also had four blocks, and a .367 attack percentage with just eight errors in 79 attempts.
Murray finished the regular-season second among GNAC leaders in digs with 515 (5.72), trailing just teammate Courtney Schneider (Fr., Snohomish). Murray tied for the team lead in service aces (35) and was third in kills (192), kill percentage (.208) and blocks (34).
Murray ranks second among Western career leaders in digs (1,310) and 16th in kills (704).
The Vikings, which closed out their regular season with six straight wins, are 18-7 overall. They placed second in the GNAC with a 14-4 record.
